VR means Virtual Reality.  Think of a VR headset as a high resolution 360 TV screen in goggle format where you are inside the screen instead of viewing a normal screen.  But not only do the VR apps show you a world where you are fully immersed, but it also lets you interact using apps so that you are an active participant in the experience all around you.  Your own virtual world, or a work you can share with others in a group play.

At The Matrix, we offer 3 types of VRStanding VR, Sitting VR and Free Roam VR.
Sitting VR is best for travel and educational experience, Roller Coaster, Driving, Flying and other relaxed types of experiences.
Standing VR offers more active experiences – Escape rooms, Shooting games, Boxing, Archery, Sports, Music-based and Adventure Apps and many more.
Free Roam VR is the most fun for groups of 3-6 players where you all play together in a 20x20ft space, moving around in the same VR world playing as a team or against each other.

All players must be 8 years old or older for safety reasons for both the child and the other players.  There is no upper age restriction as VR can be enjoyed by older people well into their 90s.

We allow food to come into The Matrix (cakes and finger food) but it must be consumed in the designated area.  All players must clean their face and hands off with our disinfectant wipes after eating before using the VR headsets and controllers after eating.

Outside beverages are not allowed. The Matrix has a large selection of chilled beverages, and we do not allow any alcoholic beverages (or drugs of any kind) on premises.  We also do not allow anyone under the influence on premises as we are a family-friendly space.

All of our VR headsets are wireless (so you don’t have the restrictions of wires distracting you) and fit by our staff to each customer to provide the best visibility and comfort.  Most people can wear a headset for up to a couple of hours before taking a break from having the headsets on.

The Matrix charges per headset per time slot, not per person per time slot.  This means, if you wish, you can share headsets between people.  Players will simply have to sub in/out of the headsets.

We DO allow walk-ins but we always recommend making bookings whenever possible to ensure that we have the space to accommodate your group.

We recommend wearing comfortable footwear and clothing for our Standing and Free Roam areas.  For Sitting VR, any clothes and shoes are fine.
