The Matrix Code of Conduct
1) No Drugs or Alcohol Permitted. We are a family-friendly environment. There is no admittance if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Virtual Reality already puts your brain in an altered state.
2) No Food or Drinks in the gaming areas. We like to keep a clean play area and equipment clean and odour free, so we ask that you not bring food or beverages into the gaming room. No one wants to wear VR equipment that smells of someone else’s food. We have a waiting area where food and drink are permitted.
3) Clean dress and hygiene are a MUST! Our Staff cleans headsets after every use with disinfectant wipes and microfiber cloth. As a courtesy to our other guests and to keep the equipment in good working order, we ask that you please freshen up before you use the equipment.
4) No backpacks, bags, purses, in the gaming areas as they can pose a great danger to our VR players. We do allow bags and personal items in the common areas but strongly suggest that you leave these items in your vehicle as The Matrix is not responsible for missing/lost/stolen/damaged personal items during your visit on property.
5) No inappropriate behaviour or horseplay. Guests wearing a VR headset cannot see the outside world. Someone could get injured or equipment could get broken by behaving inappropriately. Anyone that doesn’t follow this rule will be asked to leave.
6) Yelling, screaming out of anger/frustration and initiating physical contact with any guest of staff member of the Matrix will never be tolerated. Any guest who shows this type of behaviour will be expelled from The Matrix immediately and for a period of time no mless than 1 week. Based on the severity of the abusive behaviour, it may result in a lifetime ban from our establishment.
7) No one under 8 years permitted to participate in our VR or Sim Racing. Some content may not be suitable for young children. We like to speak with an adult about what is appropriate for their child. Most age restrictions from hardware developers are preteen and older, but we leave that up to the individual. We take children 8 year plus with parental/guardian consent. Children under 8 may stay with a parent ONLY in the common, non-gaming areas and must be kept out of the play areas at all times.
8) Appointments take priority. Nothing’s worse than planning a fun night out and being turned away at the door when you get to your destination. Appointments aren’t necessary, but we strongly encourage them to ensure you can play when you want. Evenings and weekends fill up fast.
9) Respect our equipment. All our equipment is expensive and can be damaged if dropped or treated carelessly. If equipment is purposely damaged, players will be responsible for their actions.
10) Most of all, have fun and treat all of our guests with respect and courtesy. We want everyone to leave with a smile on their face and excited for their next visit to The Matrix. You, the guest, are the biggest partner in helping make this happen. Thank you for visiting the Matrix and we look forward to showing you the best time!
