Matrix Summer Camp Code of Conduct
Program Philosophy
The goal of our Matrix VR Summer Camp is to provide an atmosphere where children develop a variety of satisfying skills and relationships while enjoying healthy activities in our clean, positive entertainment centre.
Behaviour & Discipline Policy
All efforts will be made to guide children toward appropriate behaviour. Respect for your child will be demonstrated at all times, and the same respect will be expected from your child toward his/her peers and Matrix staff. Children are made aware of all rules and expectations upon joining the program.
When needed, staff may use redirection, parent-suggested strategies, and natural consequences. When disciplinary action becomes necessary, the following age-appropriate steps will be taken:
- Sit-out period — The child will be required to sit out from activities for a duration determined by Matrix staff, based on the behaviour and the camper’s attitude.
- One-day suspension — If inappropriate behaviour continues, the child may be suspended for one day.
- Program removal — If behaviour does not improve, the child may be removed from the program for its remaining duration.
Please note: The Matrix reserves the right to bypass the steps above and terminate a child’s enrolment immediately if their behaviour poses a threat to the safety of themselves or others. This includes, but is not limited to, excessive disruptive behaviour, or emotional problems or disabilities that we are not equipped to handle safely.
Good behaviour will always be encouraged positively. Staff will work cooperatively with parents, keeping them informed of any behaviour concerns and the methods used to guide children toward socially acceptable conduct.
Basic Camp Rules
Sign-in & Sign-out — Campers are signed in upon arrival and may not leave the premises until signed out by a parent or guardian at the end of camp.
No food or drink in the VR area — Food and drinks are strictly not permitted in the VR playing area at any time.
Hand & face hygiene — All campers must use disinfectant hand wipes to clean their hands and face after any interaction with food or drink, to keep our VR equipment clean and odour-free for all participants.
Restroom etiquette — Campers must flush the toilet and wash their hands after every restroom visit before returning to their group.
Retail products — look, don’t touch — Any drinks or retail products on display are for viewing only. If you would like to see or purchase something, please ask a Matrix staff member for assistance.
Responsibility for equipment — You are responsible for the VR equipment assigned to you. If a controller or headset is broken due to negligence or misuse, you or your parent/guardian will be responsible for the cost of the damaged equipment.
No running — Running in the VR space is strictly prohibited. It puts campers and equipment at risk. Safety is always our top priority.
Our Promise to You
The Matrix exists to provide a clean, positive, and respectful environment where everyone can have fun. We do not tolerate bullying, fighting, or cruelty of any kind.
We welcome friendliness, happiness, and positivity — so that everyone enjoys their time playing together. Please leave negativity and anger at the door. Those who can’t will be asked to leave immediately.
